Laser Therapy – what to expect and costs

Because the animal will usually find laser therapy pleasant and comforting there is no need for sedation. There is no need to clip the coat either.

For the best result most animals treated with laser therapy will require several treatments and will benefit from a personalised treatment plan. While it is very common to see improvement after the first session, the multi treatment approach will ensure the most successful outcome.

The length and frequency of treatments varies with your pet’s condition. A sample treatment schedule is as follows

  • Every other day for one week (3-4 total)
  • Two to three treatments in the second week
  • One to two treatments in the third week
  • Boosters as needed

We will recommend a treatment plan specific to your pet’s condition after a consultation and physical examination.  The cost of most treatments is $20 to $50 each.  Multiple joint treatments can cost up to $65 each.
